Frequently Asked Questions
Where do private lessons take place?
Private lessons are held in your home or at an agreed upon location, depending on goals. Training happens in the environment where your dog is — which makes the skills easier to carry into everyday life.
What training method do you use?
We follow a Balanced Training philosophy — dogs are taught through positive motivation (treats, toys, or praise, whichever your dog finds valuable), and corrections are introduced only after behaviors have been learned. The goal is clear communication, not force.
How should I prepare for our lesson?
Please do not feed your dog prior to your trainer's arrival.
Ensure that your dog is secure (leashed or crated) before your trainer's arrival, as well.
What if I need to reschedule?
Let your trainer know ASAP — You will be able to reschedule one lesson within a 6-week course.
What happens in bad weather?
Most of the time, training will take place as scheduled. In the event that travel or training conditions become unsafe, we may call (at least an hour in advance) if your lesson needs to be postponed. If you don’t hear from us, class will be held as scheduled!
Do you offer anything besides private lessons?
Yes! We also offer group obedience classes and limited Board & Train options. Reach out to learn more.
